Escape to Montville - a better place to live!

Montville is nestled in the heart of the Sunshine Coast hinterland on the Blackall Range, approximately 40 minutes south-east of Noosa. The region is nothing short of spectacular with an awesome natural beauty that includes gorges and waterfalls, rainforests and scenic reserves, lakes and lilyponds - and magnificent sweeping views.

The weather is superb, with slightly cooler temperatures than the coast and far less humidity. The climate, along with the area’s fertile soil, abundance of sweet, pure groundwater (like gold to garden lovers), rural village charm, diverse architecture, and stylish shops and eateries, makes it one of the premium spots to live in Australia, if not the world!

The eastern edge of the Blackall Range is an average 23 kilometres from the ocean and conveniently placed within easy drive of larger centres such as Maroochydore, Mooloolaba and Caloundra. Brisbane is 100 kilometres south via freeway, which makes living in Montville and commuting to the city for work a viable proposition enthusiastically embraced by a number of our tree-changers.

Montville’s closest commercial centre is the town of Maleny, just 10 minutes away at the southern end of the Range. With its vibrant array of retail and service outlets - including banks, supermarkets, rural suppliers, printeries, fashion boutiques, cafes, restaurants, delicatessens, organic stores and produce markets - it provides a delightful and convenient complement to Montville living.

Adjoining Montville on its northern side is Flaxton, a peaceful sought-after residential area bordered by State Forest.  A little further along, the picturesque village of Mapleton is best known for its historic landmark pub, pretty streets, forest walks and quiet rural lifestyle.

Renowned as a popular tourist destination, the Range - which runs from Maleny at the south end to Mapleton at the north - boasts extraordinary views of the Glasshouse Mountains plus panoramic coastal vistas covering Moreton Bay, Brisbane and Moreton Island to the south, and Noosa and the Cooloola coast to the north. Baroon Pocket Dam, Kondalilla Falls National Park, Mapleton Falls National Park and Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve are extremely popular with locals and visitors alike, as is the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk which starts at Lake Baroon and winds through the national parks to Mapleton.

Montville Real Estate services the entire Blackall Range and its environs, specialising in the Montville, Flaxton and Mapleton region. If you've considered buying in Buderim but prefer more fresh air and freedom, less hustle and bustle, greater village charm, expand your options and consider Montville, Flaxton and Mapleton. Living in this unspoiled paradise is a privilege and pleasure that we look forward to sharing with our future residents.
